Blog Usage

This site has not been visited sufficiently to warrant continuation.   😢

1. During the first week since it's existence there were 7 visitors who registered as followers. Since then no further registered followers.
2. With all posts there has been no feedback in the form of comments except for several listed as anonymous from the authors.
3. Many people have verbally asked committee members asked for information such as
i. Where can I get a copy of the Constitution?,
ii. Where can I get an Application form for membership?,
iii. Who are the current Committee members?,
iv. How can I contact the New Zealand or Australian High Commissions?,
v. What other ANZA groups exist worldwide and do they have websites?,
vi. Who can contribute to the content of the blog?,
vii. Where can I get notification of any new blog entries?,
viii. Are past Newsletters accessible?,
ix. Where do visitors to the blog come from?,

The answer to the last question does not appear within the blog content. However the current statistics suggest in the last week the following:

France
22
Netherlands
22
Germany
8
Ireland
5
New Zealand
4
Ukraine
4
South Africa
4  !
Malaysia
1
United States
1

Strangely all the other questions are answered on the blog.

4 visits a week from South Africa does not justify continuing with the blog.

ANZA Car Rally 2017 has been scheduled for 25th June 2017

This event was a very popular event!  😂

A very popular event in the past has been a regular family Car Rally.  It was rejuvenated last year and was rated highly popular with Johann von Bargan from Pro Driving Tactics being the organiser with a few cryptic questions.

Johann who is also known as East Coast Radio's "Traffic Guy" will again provide the route and the questionnaire.
The details follow and please note this event is open to the public.

Something Quite Different from Australia

One of Sydney's most popular radio stations, 2GB, interviewed Dick Smith who is a very successful businessman, on the issue of immigration in Australia.
Allan Jones who is one of 2GB's most listened to talkback hosts interviewed Dick Smith on this issue of continued immigration and it's impact on major city development.

This interview "says it as it is" and is worth the 15 minutes it takes to listen.
The discussion was recorded as a podcast and can be directly accessed by clicking here.  (It does take a while to load)

Other podcasts and listen live can be reached by going to the website 2GB.com

This is a shift from the norm on the site and we would like some feedback. It might be interesting to create an additional page that has occasional stories from both New Zealand and Australia.

ANZAC Day 2017

Just a friendly reminder.
ANZAC Day Memorial Service and Dinner is in 4 days time.
If you are wishing to joining us we need to know numbers for the dinner for catering purposes. We will be giving approximate numbers later today to the caterers though we can include just a few more if need be.

The moving service presented by the Reverend Clive Jacobsen starts at 18h30 after which we are piped through to the NMR Officer's Mess for drinks and sign the visitors guest book and at about 19h00 or soon after those have booked for dinner proceed to the Dixie Adams Hall for the dinner.

We have chosen to engage "Peppers and Pans" as our preferred caterers having had excellent faire at a reasonable price last year.

Have a look at the menu below in the last posting!

This year we are pleased to have the Melbourne Rebels Rugby team attending the service and they will be enjoying a few drinks at the "Boot and Spur" pub that is on the ground floor at NMR HQ after the service.

The Australian and New Zealand Association is truly grateful to have Natal Mounted Rifles allowing us to have use of their facilities for ANZAC Day and several other events over many years.

As always there is secure parking at NMR

If you miss out on this event there will be a Potjie competition, a Beerfest and a very popular Car Rally and maybe a wine tasting later this year.
To keep advised you can enter your email address in the relevant box at top left of this page to get notice of future posting.

For late bookings please contact :
