ANZA Potjie Pot Competition at the Beachwood Mangroves Swamps, KZN Nature Conservation on 18th August.

The Australian and New Zealand Association (A.N.Z.A.) held their annual Potjie pot competition on Sunday at the Beachwood Mangrove Swamps, Umgeni River Mouth for the 19th year in succession.
It was once again a  glorious day weather wise with lots of comradeship between the teams who contested this well run event. The judges were Steven Crawford (The chief of the Boutique Hotel on the Square) and Scott Shepeard .

The winning team was “The Formidable Four”; Allan and Cheryl Van Dyk, Dave and Eleanor Brosnihan; who cooked a Red Thai Curry of Prawns and Chicken.

Runners up were Charlie Robinson and Stewart McDonald, Team “Pommie Potjie Perfektors” with an Ox Tongue in white wine sauce. This team represented The British Cultural and Heritage Association.
The enormous Raffle was won by Dominique Thidault. A dinner for two which includes a special wine tasting evening at the Square Boutique Hotel on the 29th August was won By Lesley Cogan.

All monies raised will go to ANZA 2013 annual charity award.
This was a most enjoyable day, with, according to the judges, very little points separating the teams who participated
Thanks
Yours sincerely,
Eleanor Brosnihan

Trivia Question - though not by any means trivial.

Is there any sovereign state landlocked within the boundaries of Australia?  I would guess that the popular answer would be NO.

If there actually is such a state and citizens from that sovereign state are living in KZN then would they be eligible as members of ANZA?

Answers to the above queries might have an answer provided somewhere in the following reference: PHR
